Hyper Trendy Tasty Pot Coffee
As a software developer, I am, basically, a creature who converts coffee into code. Due to the pandemic putting the vast majority of knowledge workers into mandatory work-from-home, it became necessary to adapt and find new ways to ensure my daily dosage is kept up. This is because our usual source of code juice, the workplace, is no longer a viable primary provider of this very-necessary brew. Naturally, it is also important to min-max between a number of key factors even here: cost, speed, and quality. Without further ado, here’s a peek at the parameters of my basic, daily coffee routine:
- A spoonful of instant coffee
- Nescafe Taster’s Choice; rated as “the best in instant coffee” by a good friend of mine
- 250-500 mL of boiling water (works for up to 2 servings)
- A teaspoon or so of some sweetener
- Sugar
- No-Calorie Sweetener
- Coffee Syrup of various flavours (maple, vanilla, hazelnut, etc)
- A bit of milk or cream, if so desired
Getting a small amount of water sufficiently hot for coffee takes very little time (max 5 minutes). Having all the other ingredients (except milk/cream) assembled into a cup or mug is easy and swift with a dedicated coffee station. Once the water is boiled or microwaved up to being hot enough, just pour it into the prepared cups, give it a stir, and voila, coffee is served! Finally, if milk/cream is needed, add it at the end. Whether it’s 1-4 cups, the household’s coffee needs will be met with this simple formulation that offers plenty of opportunities to further customise. Consider extras like: cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc, and the repertoire of your own coffee station will be able to produce so many variations across a wide range of tastes!
The average cost of each serving: 0.25$ – How crazy is that?
